About BonusesOnline.com

We started this in 2013 because casino review sites were just recycled press releases. Fifteen years later we still test everything ourselves with real money.

A note before you read

Gambling decisions involve real money. We treat that seriously. Everything on this site is written to help you make better choices — not to push you toward any particular casino. That’s the point of us being here.

The short version of who we are

We started this site in 2013 because we were sick of casino review pages that pulled their information straight from a casino’s own press releases. None of that involved any actual testing. Nobody had opened an account or tried to withdraw money. It was just recycled marketing content dressed up as a review.

So we did things differently. Real accounts. Real deposits. Real withdrawals. If we haven’t put our own money in and tried to get it back out, we don’t write about it.

Fifteen years later, that’s still how it works. We cover five countries where online gambling is fully regulated — the UK, US, Canada, New Zealand, and Ireland. That’s it. We don’t touch unlicensed operators or markets where online casino gambling isn’t legal.

Who actually writes the reviews

Three people. That’s the whole editorial team. Every review has a named author — no anonymous content, no AI-generated write-ups, nothing produced by a casino’s PR team.

Daniel Reed
Senior Editor

Daniel spent years in print journalism before moving into gambling content in 2013. He focuses on UK regulation and bonus terms — the kind of dense legal wording most people skip. He’s reviewed 150+ operators personally, using his own money each time.

Ryan Foster
Content Editor

Ryan’s background is ten years in financial services, specifically payment processing. He tests withdrawals on every single casino we cover. Advertised processing times are almost never what you actually experience — Ryan finds out what you’ll really get.

Emma Bennett
Fact-Checking Editor

Emma worked in casino software development from 2016. She handles all licence checks — going directly to the regulator’s database, not just reading what the casino puts on its own website. She also leads game library testing across mobile and desktop.

We earn money from this — here’s how that works

When you click a casino link on this site and sign up, we get a commission. That’s the business model. You don’t pay more — the casino pays us instead, for referring you.

Yes, that’s a conflict of interest. The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority, the US Federal Trade Commission, and Google’s content guidelines all say we have to tell you about it. So we are. Our Advertiser Disclosure goes into much more detail.

What we’ve done to keep this honest: Daniel, Ryan, and Emma never see commission figures when they’re writing reviews. The ratings come from what they found during testing. We’ve handed out 2-star scores to casinos that were paying us good money at the time. We’ve walked away from partnerships when operators pushed back on negative reviews. The commercial side and the editorial side don’t talk to each other about specific casinos.

Why casino content falls under higher standards

Google calls certain topics “Your Money or Your Life” content — meaning the information could directly affect your finances or health. Casino reviews fall squarely into that category. A misleading bonus review could push someone toward a casino they’ll have a terrible time withdrawing from.

We apply those higher standards ourselves: every claim gets verified before it goes live, T&C governs when there’s a conflict between what a casino advertises and what their legal terms actually say, and we update every review every 90 days whether anything’s changed or not.

What the testing process actually looks like

We register with a real name and address. We go through KYC the same way you would. We deposit money — usually enough to trigger the welcome bonus. We read the full bonus terms and take screenshots of them. We play some games. We contact support and ask them real questions, not softballs. We request a withdrawal and we time how long it actually takes.

When we find something wrong, we say so. When something’s genuinely good, we say that too. Our Editorial Guidelines and How We Rate pages go through the whole process in detail.

If you’re worried about your gambling

Every casino we recommend has to have deposit limits and self-exclusion built in. That’s a baseline requirement, not a nice-to-have. And on every review page, we link to support services. Here are the main ones for each country we cover:
